Frankly, Scarlett.....

This heat wave has done me in. The very high temperatures with heavy intermittent storms (that don't cool anything) have prevented me from seeing much in Tenn.
I drove through Nashville (rt 40 is somewhat elevated) and  at night the lightening helped to make a pretty skyline even more so. Missed Jackson due to heavy rain.
The air conditioning in the van runs in competition with the sun pouring in and the heat from the console (engine heat), So midday yesterday, I decided to come to a state park outside of Memphis and wait out the hot weather. It's supposed to break tonight (for a few days) after another storm.
I wanted to go into the city and check out Beale St., the Japanese exhibit, and get me some ribs. However, since this campground has a pool that closed Labor Day, the  temperature in Gitaroun' was 82 at 9:15 this AM, and yesterday afternoon here was just too hot to even sit in the shade and read ....  I think I'll pack up, move on, find a spot along the Mississippi, put my feet in, and save Tennessee for another time.
     On to Arkansas.....

PICS: "upload failed... server returned an invalid reaponse".... whatever that means!

Still travelin' with a couple of angels on my shoulder...
